We hit only one of our betting trends last weekend, which was on Auburn plus the points. Handicapping Week 10 will be a treat, as every conference is scheduled to play for the first time all season.

Here are the best betting angles and trends to keep an eye on for the first full slate of the year.

West Virginia eyeing yet another under

West Virginia was an ‘over’ team during the Dana Holgorsen regime. Second-year head coach Neal Brown has flipped the script.

Brown’s less offensively minded and has emphasized balance. It’s certainly paid dividends on the defensive side, especially when West Virginia is an underdog. The Mountaineers enter Week 10 against Texas on a 7-0 run to the under when getting points, a situation they’ll find themselves in Saturday as seven-point ‘dogs.

West Virginia’s last seven as an underdog

There’s no chance Brown’ll want to engage in a shootout with Texas and dual-threat quarterback Sam Ehlinger. Look for the Mountaineers to try to slow the game down as much as possible.

Trend play: Under 55

Navy as a ‘dog = over

Now onto Navy, which is the opposite of West Virginia. When the Midshipmen are getting points, expect a bunch on the scoreboard.

Navy’s a blistering 10-1 to the over the last 11 games as a ‘dog, including a perfect 5-0 this season. Ironically, the Midshipmen have gone under the total in both games they were favored in.

After combining for 88 points with SMU as a 12.5-point ‘dog last weekend, what does Navy have in store against Tulsa?

Trend play: Over 58

Kansas is fade material

Kansas is getting one of the biggest cushions on the board, catching 38 points to Oklahoma. That’s plenty to work with but don’t assume the Jayhawks will compete in this one.

Les Miles’ squad is on a dreadful 0-6 run against the spread as an underdog, 0-5 ATS the previous five following a loss, 0-6 ATS the last six conference games, and 0-7 ATS the last seven overall.

The Sooners will roll.

Trend play: Oklahoma -38

James Franklin loves the bounce-back spot

Penn State‘s James Franklin is nearly automatic following a loss. Although the head coach didn’t lead his team to a cover last Saturday against Ohio State following a defeat in the opener to Indiana, the Nittany Lions are on a red-hot 8-2 run against the spread the week after losing.

Penn State didn’t get a chance to control the game script versus the Buckeyes. As 25-point chalk over a spotty Maryland squad, Franklin and Co. can name the number.

Trend play: Penn State -25
